How to make a Fondant Bunny Rabbit

 Ready for the Easter Bunny?

We will start with the shape of an egg, any colour you like...

And then, you will need 5 white fondant balls: 4 pea size balls and 1 bigger ball for the head

So, with 2 of the white pea size balls, form feet and attach with edible glue

Now you will have the feet attached, you need to form the head with the bigger white fondant ball, and add a very small pink fondant ball for nose and mouth. Attach head with glue and you could add a fine spaghetti just in case. Add ears with edible glue and paint eyes with edible marker...

And now it is time to attach the arms which have been done out of 2 of the white pea size balls, as shown in picture 2.

You will probably will get carried away and add a little chick, too... Or a carrot...

Whatever you do, just have fun! And have a great Easter weekend!

Fondant bunny rabbit

Isn't she adorable? Tomorrow, I will be posting the photos to show you how to make this cute bunny rabbit with fondant. She is small enough to sit on a cupcake or small cake. I love her tiny fondant carrot! See you tomorrow!

And we welcome the bunny rabbit!

In the same way we embrace the spring, we welcome the bunny rabbit! During this week, I will be posting some ideas on how to decorate cakes or cupcakes with the bunny rabbit. This is an 8" cake, iced with vanilla buttercream, and the border done with a grass tip. Ears, face features, and flowers done with fondant.

Eating Daffodils!

When spring arrives, I feel like eating Daffodils! At least Daffodils made with royal icing. The icing on this cupcake is a "Vanilla Frosting Mix", made with natural ingredients. I had to try this icing I found at Whole Foods, among the Pamela's Products. It works quite well for piping. A little bit too sweet for me, but you might want to try it. The only thing you add is butter and water. See if it works for you!

What else can you make out of cake?

A bomb cake! I really love this cake. It was done for a Secret Agent birthday party. It was all covered in black chocolate buttercream. Decorations were done in fondant.

Aloha!

A beautiful day here in Vancouver! Perfect to showcase this Hawaiian cake done for Danielle for her 10th birthday. I am so proud of the fact that I have done all her birthday cakes! This year she wanted something with surfboards and a Hawaiian theme. I used Graham crackers for edible sand... So, there you have it: I have been making cakes for 10 years now! Happy Anniversary to me!!! ;)
